Video is now strategic infrastructure. I help design the systems and make the films that treat it that way.
Coming up on 20 years across broadcast, product and brand: Samsung, Google, BlackBerry, Bell Media, and ten years with Sandwich Video.
Jordan Lloyd has become our go-to for concept video production. We have worked with him for both live action and motion graphics repeatedly since 2012.
Jordan has been an incredibly talented, creative and dependable contractor when it comes to supporting our team. He combines a great talent for storytelling and is proficient with technologies that span video production & editing, graphic illustration, 3D rendering and has a large network of friends and talent that add storyboarding, lighting, casting, modelling & post-processing skills. He is an amazing resource and helps free up our team to focus on what we do best. Thanks for all your help so far.
I just wanted to thank you for the work you did for us on Remington, you delivered everything we required and it was a pleasure for my team to work with someone so professional and accommodating. The creative you gave us is excellent and the client is thrilled.
I've had the pleasure of working with Jordan on a number of corporate explainer and event promo motion graphic videos. Jordan displays a keen understanding of our business needs, is sensitive to our deadlines, makes insightful and helpful recommendations to improve the impact of the videos and always delivers fantastic and relevant creative that takes the projects to the next level. Jordan is a true creative professional and I would recommend him in a second.
Working with Jordan is great for two reasons: You are reassured by his professionalism, and more importantly you know it will be a fun time. We worked together to bring Creative Mornings to Toronto. Jordan led the way in capturing the events and making sure we have a top notch record of our speakers for everyone to enjoy.
I have hired Jordan repeatedly over the course of the past four years for a variety of projects that have been demanding in timelines and standards. He has delivered results consistently and offers creative solutions along the way that elevate the final product such as when he was a part of the team launching the Sun News Network.
Jordan is an extremely talented designer. He has an acute and outstanding ability to complete complex, and high quality projects within a timely manner. His understanding of brand identity, coupled with his commitment to deadlines, demonstrates his thorough knowledge of design and true professionalism. We look forward to working with him again in the future.
Working with Jordan has been an absolute pleasure. His talent and experience make all the difference. Jordan's conceptual and aesthetic strength, combined with his work ethic make him a very rare find. I wouldn't look elsewhere for an animator.
Jordan's design work is genuinely second to none. Not only does he consistently give us top shelf results, he does so in astounding time. Always an absolute pleasure to have him on a project.
Jordan continues to provide top motion graphic solutions for Envision Sales. Jordan can handle any type of project, large or small, with accurate representation from creative briefs. Jordan helped with hi-end visual projects for us including The Remington Sales Centre and CIBC. He is fully capable of delivering beautiful motion graphics at a consistent professional level and comes highly recommended.
⬩ Video is now strategic infrastructure.
Somewhere in the last ten years, video stopped being a marketing purchase and became the default way businesses communicate. Most companies still buy it like it's 2012: one project at a time, from zero, forever. The gap between those two facts is where all my work lives.
⬩ Files don't compound. Systems do.
In the old model, the thousandth video costs what the first did. In a system, every shot stacks: the library grows, the motion language deepens, output accelerates. The second time I catch a team rebuilding the same thing by hand, we stop and build the system instead.
⬩ Past a certain level of trust,
you are the brief.
The most valuable emails I get contain no brief, no script, no deliverables list. Two certainties: the deadline and the trust. Teams aren't hiring a pair of hands to execute a plan; they're hiring the confidence that when the plan lands late, and it always lands late, the video will still be great.
⬩ The reel gets you compared.
Trust gets you called.
And consistency gets you called back. Twenty years of tutorials taught everyone how to make things and almost nothing about how to be the name someone says in a meeting you're not in. That climb is most of what I have to teach.
⬩ Concept work is professional work.
I learned this inside a San Francisco industrial design studio: concepts produced with the same rigor as client work, labeled honestly as concepts, sometimes built for real. Selling what doesn't exist yet is not a lesser genre. It's the genre that keeps ambitious projects alive.
⬩ Every screen, from the first frame.
The medium is pixels; the canvas is screens. 16:9, 9:16 and 1:1 are not a master and its afterthoughts: one deliverable with three faces, designed in parallel from day one. Ten years from now this will be so obvious it won't need saying. It needs saying.
Most teams still make video one project at a time: a losing race against a demand curve that never flattens. The fix isn't a bigger budget; it's a system. Reusable assets, every screen designed from the first frame, and every project building on the last instead of starting from zero.
