Motion Graphics Designer at Research In Motion (Blackberry)
July-September 2010 (2 months)

Assisting the video design team at RIM with production of various product development videos and on-device assets.

The Sheriff at Moment Communications Inc.
March 2008 – April 2010  (2 years 2 months)

As a member of the small production team at MomentCo I had a relatively diverse set of responsibilities. This often included everything from designing, planning, executing or consulting on a wide variety of projects within the space of film & video, design and interactivity. We produced a lot of corporate and commercial work for various national brands such as Molson, Coors Light, Heineken and Corona. Early on I earned the nickname ‘the sheriff’ which became a running joke when it came to trying to describe my job title internally.

Broadcast/Motion Graphics Designer at CTVJune 2007 – April 2008  (11 months)

I began working at CTV as a freelance broadcast & motion graphics designer shortly after graduating in 2007. After a few months of that I moved over to take on a position as the sole designer on Etalk, CTV’s daily entertainment news program. Here I was responsible for all of the day to day graphic requirements involved in the production of the show. The environment was extremely fast paced and could often change in the blink of an eye.

Compositor/Roto Artist at IMAXApril 2007 – June 2007  (3 months)

I worked as a compositor and roto artist on the IMAX 3D presentation of ‘Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix’. Weapon of choice was Shake. I learned an incredible amount in this short 3 month contract. It was my first experience working within an elaborate post-production pipeline that demanded top quality results, as well as working in a large team, and of course more than I ever thought I wanted to know about being a roto artist.
